Hi there! I’m Stephanie Clemenshaw, the founder and lead speech-language pathologist at Flagstaff Speech Solutions. If you're reading this, chances are you're a parent, caregiver, or professional who cares deeply about helping children communicate—and I’m so glad you’re here.

Rooted in the Flagstaff Community

Flagstaff isn’t just the place I work—it’s home. It’s where I live, raise my family, and feel most connected. I chose to build my practice here because I believe Flagstaff families deserve high-quality, individualized care without having to drive hours or face long waitlists. Our town is full of vibrant, diverse families who want their children to thrive, and I wanted to create a resource that truly supports them—right here, where they are. Flagstaff is a place that values connection and creativity, and I built this practice with those same values at its heart.

Why I Started This Practice

Flagstaff Speech Solutions was built from both professional experience and personal conviction.  After working in schools for over a decade, I began noticing the same patterns: families feeling rushed, children not receiving individualized care they deserved, and therapy that sometimes felt like checking a box rather than building meaningful progress.  I knew there had to be a better way.

I wanted to create a practice that felt different—a place where every child is known deeply, where parents are true partners, and where therapy is designed around each child’s needs rather than forcing them to fit into a rigid system. Speech therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and neither are the families we serve.

By founding Flagstaff Speech Solutions, I set out to offer something more personal, more accessible, and more responsive.  My ultimate goal? That no child ever feels stuck in their communication journey—and no family ever feels alone while navigating it.

Why a Mobile + Clinic-Based Model?

When I envisioned this practice, flexibility and connection were top priorities.  I saw families trying to squeeze therapy into already busy lives, and I knew there was a way to make services more accessible and impactful.

That’s why Flagstaff Speech Solutions offers both in-clinic and mobile therapy options.  Some children thrive in the structured environment of a clinic; others make the most progress practicing speech on their own couch.  We meet each child where they are—both literally and developmentally—tailoring each session to your child’s unique needs and comfort level.

A Focus on Speech Sound Disorders

In recent years, I’ve developed a special passion for working with children who have speech sound disorders, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). There’s something incredibly meaningful about watching a child say a sound clearly for the first time after weeks—or even months—of hard work. It’s a moment filled with joy, pride, and possibility.

Using evidence-based approaches tailored specifically for speech sound disorders, I’ve seen firsthand how children can make rapid, meaningful progress—and often, avoid years of extended therapy when intervention starts early.

What We Treat

At Flagstaff Speech Solutions, we specialize in providing individualized, evidence-based therapy in the following areas:

  • Speech sound disorders—including articulation delays, phonological disorders, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

  • Language delays—supporting late talkers and children with expressing and/or receptive language challenges

  • Fluency disorders—such as stuttering, with strategies that build confidence and communication ease

  • Autism spectrum-related communication challenges—focusing on social communication, language development, and functional speech

  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) support—device support and parent coaching

Our approach is play-based, evidence-informed, and relationship-driven—because when therapy is fun and personalized, kids make meaningful progress. We’re also proud to be an ESA-approved vendor, making speech therapy more accessible to Arizona families through Empowerment Scholarship Account funding.
